As a recent graduate from Rasmussen University with a Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security, I have gained an understanding what cyber security is and how ignoring it can be detrimental to businesses.
Cyber Security can be described as the collective methods, technologies, and processes which protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of computer systems, networks, and data, against cyber-attacks or unauthorized access. The primary purpose of cyber security is to protect critical assets from both external threats, internal threats, and disruptions.
Why is cyber security more important now than ever? Technology changes fast and cyber-attacks will inevitably emerge. Cyber-attacks affect all of us in one way or another. Cyber-attacks are increasingly sophisticated and the damage done to businesses can be costly.
